A GLORIOUS WHITE CHRISTMAS with Masterworks Chorale

Holiday concert and cookie buffet - December 7th only at 2pm and 4pm at San Mateo Congregational Church, 225 Tilton Avenue, San Mateo CA

Join Masterworks Chorale on Sunday, December 7th, 2pm or 4pm, for Bach’s Christmas cantata, Gloria in excelsis Deo, and selections from Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Both performances take place at the Congregational Church of San Mateo, 225 Tilton Avenue, where audience members will also enjoy a traditional cookie feast following each concert.

In our favorite family-friendly holiday concert Masterworks celebrates the best sentiments of this season of reflection, hope, and gratitude. Bach’s exuberant Christmas cantata, Gloria in excelsis Deo, extols life’s blessings with irrepressible ebullience. The five-part chorale and charming duet for soprano and tenor give voice to the enduring wish for “peace on earth, good will toward men” in this jubilant expression of faith and joy.

The joyful celebration continues with sprightly spirituals, jaunty jingles, and merry carol sing-alongs, as well as treasured tunes from Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. The popular holiday musical boasts delightful favorites such as “Sisters,” “The Best Things Happen While You’re Dancing,” “Blue Skies,” and, of course, the ever popular title song.
