Peninsula CHP Announces DUI Checkpoint

The operation is planned for Sept. 12.

The following is a news release from the Redwood City CHP Office:

The Redwood City Area Office of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) will conduct a sobriety checkpoint on Friday, September 12, 2014 to aggressively seek those who choose to drive drunk.

Every year, members of our community are injured or killed on local roadways by impaired drivers. It is the Department’s goal to use this enforcement tool to assist with the reduction of injury and fatal collisions that are caused by drunk drivers. We are asking the public to designate a driver if they happen to allow alcohol to be part of their evening.

The checkpoint will be operated from approximately 8:00 PM to Midnight. As with all checkpoints, the exact location of the checkpoint will be announced prior to the beginning of the operation.
