Shorebirds Seek Shelter From The Wind: Photos Of The Day
As wind gusts top 60 MPH at nearby San Francisco International Airport, shorebirds sought refuge in protected water.
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Multiple wind gusts over 60 MPH were recorded at San Francisco International Airport Tuesday afternoon, as the National Weather Service issued a high wind warning and a winter weather advisory.
The shorebirds at Oyster Point didn't need advice from the weather service as they took shelter in a protected cove, as you can see above. In the distance you can see whitecaps on San Francisco Bay.

The storm is expected to bring near-freezing temperatures along with rain, snow, and hail in some locations.
Here's a quick update on the storm system that's coming through our area. High Wind Warnings have been issued along the Pacific coast and a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for some of our higher elevations. Stay tuned to forecast updates and stay safe! #CAwx pic.twitter.com/Q9sqIEmXPh
