SpoonRocket Delivers Bratwurst & Beards to Baseball Fans in Celebration of San Francisco's Home Opener-

SpoonRocket, the On-Demand Food Company to Deliver "Playoff Beards" and Gourmet Brats Curbside in Celebration of San Francisco's Home Opener

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (April 2015) β€” SpoonRocket, the on-demand meal delivery service revolutionizing fast food, is bringing the ballpark curbside in time for San Francisco’s first home game of the season. On April 13th, SpoonRocket customers can feast on Brats and Cracker Jacks, delivered within 15 minutes curbside. The company is also upholding superstition by delivering a faux β€œplayoff beard” with every order of Brats on April 13th while supplies last.

β€œBaseball season is here, and whether you’re in stadium or at home, there’s nothing like great food and America’s favorite pastime to bring the Bay Area together,” said Steven Hsiao, SpoonRocket CEO. β€œWe’re adding some fun to the meal by giving customers their β€œplayoff beard” early since we’re all rooting for another winning season in San Francisco.”

Customers are encouraged to sport their beards on opening day and post photos of their real or faux beards on Instagram and tag with #Spoonrocketplayoffbeards. The customer photo with the most likes will be selected to win a one-month supply of free SpoonRocket meals.

The SpoonRocket playoff beard features a black mustache and beard similar to the unshaved face of San Francisco’s most famous pitcher. The menu includes a grilled baseball Bratwurst sausage with stoneground mustard sauce, along with a box of Cracker Jack. Menu items will be available for $8 with a $2.50 delivery fee. East Bay and San Francisco customers can place orders online from 10 am to midnight at www.spoonrocket.com or through the mobile app.

The idea for SpoonRocket started with Steven Hsiao and Anson Tsui while at UC Berkeley. They shared a mission to revolutionize fast food by delivering craveable, gourmet meals in a matter of minutes. The success of SpoonRocket on the Cal campus led to rapid expansion throughout the Bay Area and $11 million in venture capital funding. Seattle is the second new market outside the region, with service expanded to the University of California San Diego campus earlier this year.
