Written by Bay City News:

Bay Area roadways are expected to be jam-packedΒ FridayΒ evening,Β with a bevy of sports events and concerts on tap, including performances byΒ Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake at Candlestick Park in San Francisco.

Aaron Siuda, vice president of Live Nation Northern California,Β said that between the Legends of the Summer tour at Candlestick Park, a JohnΒ Mayer concert at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, and A's and GiantsΒ home games, "it's a really big week for the Bay Area."

He advised concertgoers to take public transit or carpool. ForΒ those braving the roads, he said, "Don't plan on allowing yourself the normalΒ time to get to a concert."

Instead, he advised leaving very early and expecting heavyΒ traffic.

Live Nation has compiled a website with information about parkingΒ discounts, public transit options, shuttles and other transportationΒ information. That site is available atΒ ticketmaster.com/jtjzcommute.

California Highway Patrol Officer Art Montiel said extra unitsΒ will be out on U.S. Highway 101Β on Friday.

"It's going to be busy," he said. "We're going to be prepared forΒ that."

San Francisco police spokeswoman Officer Tracy Turner said thereΒ will be increased enforcement near AT&T Park and Candlestick Park.

"We're ready," she said.
