Personal Training with Unlimited DEXA and VO2 Max

Most training programs run on guesswork. Custom Fit replaces it with measurement. At its San Francisco studios, Personal Training and Partner Training memberships include unlimited DEXA body-composition scans and VO2 max testing — diagnostics usually sold one scan at a time or reserved for specialized clinics. Custom Fit members can test as often as they train. The reasoning is straightforward. A DEXA scan measures fat, lean muscle, and bone density with clinical precision. A VO2 max test measures the body's maximum oxygen uptake, one of the strongest predictors of cardiovascular fitness and long-term health. Run those tests on a regular cadence and a member can see exactly what is changing, where, and whether a program is working — rather than relying on the scale or the mirror. That is the idea behind Custom Fit's positioning: not a gym, a performance lab. Every program is built from a member's measured body composition and cardiovascular capacity, then adjusted as the data moves. The goal is to eliminate the guesswork that defines most fitness routines and to treat training as something you can verify. The model also brings longevity diagnostics that usually live in concierge medicine into a routine training week. Body composition and cardiovascular capacity are central markers of how well a person is aging, and regular testing keeps those numbers visible rather than treating them as an occasional, expensive add-on. Your donation helps us keep circus training accessible while honoring the creativity and leadership of underrepresented artists. This evening is offered as a sliding scale event so that finances are not a barrier to entry. Typically we charge $5 for entry and $10 for each trapeze swing. If you can donate more to cover someone else’s experience, we’d appreciate it. If you don’t have the financial means to donate, please register for a $0 ticket.

CIRCUS FOR EVERY.BODY: A Fat-Positive BIPOC/LGBTQ+ Circus Event

The Stanford Summer Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Summer Chorus will perform "Lobgesang" (Hymn of Praise), Felix Mendelssohn's epic "symphony-cantata", on July 31 and August 1 in Bing Concert Hall. Considered one of Mendelssohn's greatest works, it was the first symphony after Beethoven's 9th to combine orchestra and chorus. The soloists are sopranos Esther Tonea and Jennie Yukyung Byun and tenor Chance Jonas-O'Toole. Esther is a former Adler Fellow at SF Opera and winner of the prestigious Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition. Chance Jonas-O'Toole, a former member of the Merola Program at SF Opera, sang with Deutsche Oper Berlin for the past two seasons and is now back singing with SF Opera. Jennie Yukyung Byun is a prominent soprano soloist living the Bay Area. Conductor Paul Phillips is the Gretchen B. Kimball Director of Orchestra Studies at Stanford, where he also directs the Stanford Symphony Orchestra and Stanford Philharmonia. The program opens with an overture by the remarkable British opera composer Ethel Smyth and a choral work, "Heavenly Home", arranged by Shawn Kirchner and conducted by Rafael Ornes.
