Update: Elderly Woman Killed in Studio City

Update:

A woman was killed today when her husband accidentally ran her down while backing his car out of a driveway in Studio City.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene around 1:15 p.m. in the 10800 block of Wrightwood Lane, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim was “an elderly woman,” according to police.

Detective Sgt. Greg Fuqua of the LAPD’s Valley Traffic Division told the Daily News the man “accidentally ran over his wife who was behind the vehicle in the driveway. We have sent out a crisis counseling team to the scene for the husband.”

The identity of the couple was not immediately released.

A woman was struck by a vehicle in the Studio City area this afternoon and pronounced dead at the scene.

Paramedics were sent to the 10800 block of Wrightwood Lane about 1:15 p.m., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The victim was “an elderly woman,” according to police, who were investigating the circumstances of the death.
