Hiker Rescued in Hollywood Hills

A 22-year-old woman was injured while hiking in the Hollywood Hills Sunday.

Air and ground firefighting crews successfully rescued a woman injured on a hike in the Hollywood Hills today.

The 22-year-old woman was reported injured shortly before 3 p.m. at 3050 Runyon Canyon Rd., Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Erik Scott told City News Service.

An LAFD helicopter lowered a paramedic to the ground to assist the woman while ground units arrived, and it was determined that the woman had an injured extremity, Scott said.

When firefighters arrived on the ground, they helped her walk to safety. Meanwhile, the helicopter picked up the paramedic to be ready for the next call, he said.
