Individual Struck, Killed By Metro Red Line Train Over Weekend

Police are investigating if Lankershim Boulevard incident was accident or suicide.

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA --- One person was struck and killed by a Metro Red Line subway train Saturday night, authorities said.   The crash happened at 8:51 p.m. at 3901 Lankershim Boulevard, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

 The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, Humphrey said.   

The deceased was described as a "patron'' by Metro spokesman Ramon Montenegro.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were investigating to determine if the death was a suicide or an accident, Montenegro said.
