Letter to the Editor: "We Deserve Better Than the Kardashians"

One Calif. woman says the Los Angeles-based clan does not represent America and believes they were a poor choice for one popular magazine.

Dear Patch Editor,

This week I received my November 2015 issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine and was at first surprised to see the Kardashian brood on the front cover. Then I looked closer and was astounded that the omnipresent Los Angeles residents were touted as ‘America’s First Family.’

The Kardashians have gained their place in the spotlight by carefully manipulating the media. Kris Jenner has set aside principles and personal integrity to obtain fame. She has gone as far as promoting her daughter, Kim’s, “sex tape” to gain notoriety for herself and her litter of misfits. On top of which, she is capitalizing on the situation with Caitlyn/Bruce Jenner. It’s all about self-promotion.

Who really cares about the Kardashians? To label this atrocity as ‘America’s First Family’ brings shame to the name Cosmopolitan.

That all said I canceled my long-time subscription to the popular magazine. I hope that their editors make better choices as to what to include in their publication in the future.

Sincerely,

Kimberly Kalkhoven, Northern California resident
