Christmas Day Homicide: Man Shot In Nearby Fairfield
The victim was taken to a hospital, but passed away from injuries, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CA – A 24-year-old Fairfield man died after being shot Christmas Day on the 1000 block of Second Street in Fairfield, police said.
The Fairfield Police Department responded at 1:16 p.m. to several calls reporting a disturbance, a man with a gun and, finally, one caller saying a male was lying in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.
Officers performed life-saving efforts until medical personal arrived, however the victim, identified as Jakkari Sampson, was transported to an area trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries, the department said.
