2 In Critical Condition After Crash Into Pole
The man and woman were taken to trauma center after the wreck at Clay Bank Road and Quail Drive in Fairfield, police said.

FAIRFIELD, CA – A 33-year-old man and a woman, 43, both from Fairfield, suffered life-threatening injuries this morning when their vehicle hit a signal pole at the intersection of Clay Bank Road and Quail Drive in Fairfield, according to police.
The two, whose names were not released, were extricated from the vehicle by the Fairfield Fire Department and taken to a local trauma center, where thy were listed in critical condition.
The intersection was shut down after the 5:30 a.m. crash, but has reopened, the Fairfield Police Department said.

Speed is believed to be a factor in the collision, and police are investigating whether or not drugs and/or alcohol were involved, the department said.

A solo-vehicle, major-injury accident this morning has closed the intersection of Clay Bank Road and Quail Drive in Fairfield, according to police.
The Fairfield Police Department asked drivers to avoid the area, if possible, estimating the roadways will reopen at approximately 10 a.m.
