3-Legged Dog Makes Acting Debut

Fatty, a year-old pure bred Labrador Retriever with only three legs, will star as "Sandy," the orphaned dog, in an upcoming musical.

Heather Keeney, the dog's owner, will also play a role in the performance as "Grace."

Fatty suffered an injury that left the dog's leg paralyzed. "Heather and her family made the difficult decision to have (the leg) amputated in September," said Jennifer Kopack in an emailed announcement.

The dog made a healthy recovery shortly after the operation. "He has made a remarkable recovery from his injury and runs and plays just as if nothing ever happened," Kopack said. "The family is considering having him become a therapy dog for the sick, injured or disabled. He has an amazing heart and affection for everyone he meets."
