3 Suspects Arrested Weeks After Temecula Assault

Suspects from Murrieta and Temecula were arrested for the Jefferson Avenue attack that sent one victim to the hospital with serious injury.

TEMECULA, CA — Three men were placed under arrest in late January on suspicion of committing physical assault on two others in Temecula, one with a significant injury, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

One week ago, two suspects were arrested in San Diego County, according to Southwest Sheriff's Station Sgt. Joe Narcisso. Kevin Willis, 42 of Murrieta, was located and arrested in Vista, while Jevon Harper, 24 of Temecula, was located and arrested in Oceanside, in Camp Pendleton. Both were taken into custody without incident, and being held on charges of assault likely to produce great bodily injury, according to Narcisso's report.

Christan Anders Harding, 35 of Murrieta, was immediately arrested following the Jan. 17 assault, on charges of assault likely to produce great bodily injury. All were held at the Southwest Detention Center in Murrieta and both Harding and Willis await March court dates at the Southwest Justice Center.

Two people were attacked in the early hours of Saturday, Jan. 17, shortly before 1:45 a.m., according to Narcisso. Deputies and emergency responders arrived on reports of a battery in the 27000 block of Jefferson Avenue in Temecula. There, two men were found with injuries from the attack, both required medical attention.

"One victim was treated at the scene, the second was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital with significant injuries," Narcisso said. There was no update on that person's condition as of this report.

The Riverside County Sheriff's Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the assault, and no further details were immediately available. Officers did ask for the public's information regarding the incident. Any tips should go to Lead Investigator Nicole Roberge at 951-696-3000.
