After Racist Video Goes Viral, Temecula Man Loses Job
Roger Miller, who was depicted in the video along with his wife, Sandra, worked for the city of Coronado.

TEMECULA, CA — After a Linfield Christian School employee was fired from her job earlier this year following the posting of a video to social media showing her making racist comments targeting Asian Americans, her husband has now lost his job as well.
Roger Miller, who was depicted in the video along with his wife, Sandra, served as the city of Coronado's director of recreation and golf services. His resignation was accepted on March 10, according to the city.
The private school in Temecula confirmed Monday, Feb. 1, that Sandra Miller's employment was terminated after campus officials learned of the incident and questioned her about the TikTok video that appeared over the last weekend of January.

In the video — which was picked up by another source and shared over Twitter — Sandra Miller can be heard saying, "I love that we are not in their country. I love that we are not communism. I love that very much." Later she says to the person filming, "America is a free country. Go back to China."
In the video, the Temecula couple is seen in a parking structure walking away from the person filming and getting into a vehicle. The pair also uses obscene gestures toward the person filming.

School officials said they "spoke with Ms. Miller regarding the incident," then terminated her position, according to a statement released by the school.
In Coronado, an investigation into the video was launched by the city, which ultimately led to Roger Miller's resignation, according to a released statement from City Manager Tina Friend.
"I have accepted the resignation of the City’s Director of Recreation and Golf Services, Roger Miller," Friend said in the March 10 statement.
"This decision was made with careful consideration of the best interests of the City, our residents, and our larger community. A resignation allows a separation to take place and the City to move forward without delay," Friend continued. "The investigation effectively ended with Mr. Miller’s resignation as he is no longer a City employee.
"I am confident that we upheld our process and came to a conclusion that was appropriate.
"We know that this issue is of great interest to many people both within and outside the City of Coronado. The City understands the impact this situation has had on our employees and our community. I want to be very clear that the City remains a welcoming place to all, and we do not tolerate any form of racism or other discrimination," Friend said.
For its part, Linfield Christian said Sandra Miller failed to live up to the school's mission.
"The statements made by Ms. Miller do not reflect the beliefs of Linfield, are inconsistent with Linfield's mission statement, and fail to mee the behavior Linfield expects employees to model for its students," the school posted.
According to the school's website, the vision and Mission of Linfield Christian School is to "develop and inspire students, to know Jesus Christ as Lord, to love others as themselves, to grow in knowledge and skill — in order that they may serve the Lord and the world through their character and leadership."
