• Two Cars Collide, 1 Person Injured Near Temecula Middle School (patch.com) — A two-car crash near the entrance to Temecula Middle School’s bus loop brought a large emergency response Monday afternoon, leaving one driver hospitalized in stable condition and the other uninjured. Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department are still investigating the cause, and no arrests have been made so far, with limited additional details released.    

• Chicago Man Andy Salzman Remembered as Compassionate and Adventurous Soul by Hundreds of Grieving Friends (theunionstar.com) — Friends and family are mourning Andrew “Andy” Salzman, a young man from Temecula who later made his home in Chicago and recently passed away. Loved ones describe him as compassionate, adventurous, and deeply connected to many people, and a GoFundMe campaign titled “Honoring Andrew’s Memory with Love” is helping cover his funeral expenses.    

• Texas A&M and Cal Poly Use Data to Help Communities Prevent Wildfire Risk (tamu.edu) — Temecula is one of several California communities piloting a new data‑driven scorecard that helps local governments spot planning conflicts that could worsen wildfire risk. Researchers from Texas A&M and Cal Poly worked with city planners and fire officials so cities like Temecula can better align growth, zoning, and evacuation needs before the next major fire season.
