Brush Fire Breaks Out West Of Temecula City Limits, Near De Luz (patch.com) β Residents near Temecula should be aware that the Carancho Fire ignited Tuesday evening just west of the city limits near De Luz, close to the San Diego County line. Firefighters, supported by aircraft and North County Fire crews, held the blaze at about 15 acres by mid-evening, with no evacuations or injuries reported and the cause still under investigation.

3. 11 days after getting out of prison, LA man kills Temecula woman, authorities say (sbsun.com) β Authorities say a woman was fatally shot Monday on Colorado Avenue in Temecula, and deputies later arrested a Los Angeles man on suspicion of murder and a parole violation. Investigators are still withholding the relationship between the suspect and victim, and details about where the earlier firearm crime occurred remain unclear.

Update: Carancho Fire in Riverside County - containment reaches 35% (sacbee.com) β Fire crews are working to contain the Carancho Fire, which started Tuesday evening near Carancho and Frens roads in Temecula and has burned about 35 acres. As of Wednesday morning it's 35% contained, with no cause identified yet, so residents should stay alert for changing conditions and official updates.

Sex Registrant Admits Molesting Two in Temecula (mynewsla.com) β A registered sex offender has admitted to molesting a girl outside a Temecula high school and groping a woman at a nearby mall, resolving the case with a guilty plea. He faces sentencing in December at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta, and remains jailed on $1 million bail as residents await the court's decision.
