CHP warned motorists not to bypass the closure while crews righted the trailer and cleared the debris, eventually reopening the ramp around noon with no injuries reported.

Apartment Fire In Temecula Displaces 3, Damages 14 Units: Cal Fire (patch.com) β Firefighters quickly contained a Wednesday night apartment fire on Nicolas Road in Temecula that displaced three residents and damaged multiple units, mainly from flames and water. No serious injuries were reported, but 14 units were affected, and the Red Cross is helping those forced from their homes while investigators determine the cause.

Temecula wine country wants to be the new Italy, no passport required (pressdemocrat.com) β Temecula Valley's wine country and Temecula Creek Inn get a close-up look, from vineyard tours at Danza del Sol to a standout dinner at Corkfire Kitchen. For locals, it's a reminder of how much is available nearby, including staycations, wine tasting, and evolving resort upgrades that could shape future weekend plans without leaving town.

Temecula school trustee faces investigation (myvalleynews.com) β Temecula residents should know that TVUSD Trustee Melinda Anderson is under investigation after video appeared to show her placing a possible recording device under a boardroom desk, prompting a sheriff's inquiry and calls for her resignation. Anderson says she plans to step down over what she describes as ongoing threats from another trustee, while board leaders stress that the controversy is political, not a direct student-safety issue, ahead of an Oct. 13 meeting.

Parolee Accused Of Gunning Down Temecula Woman To Be Arraigned Next Week (patch.com) β A parolee is accused of fatally shooting 30-year-old Temecula resident Shaquilah Kaprise Howard during an apparent domestic dispute, and he's now set for arraignment Oct. 16 at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta. Investigators say he was recently released from prison on a prior firearm conviction and is being held on $3 million bail.
