Brush Fire On Camp Pendleton Sends Smoke To Murrieta, Temecula

SOUTHWEST RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — A brush fire that charred 175 acres at Camp Pendleton Monday afternoon is contained, but Southwest Riverside County residents can expect smoke for the rest of the day, according to 2nd Lt. Charlotte M. Dennis.

The fire, reported in a training area, is in "patrol status" and is being monitored, according to Dennis.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
