Carjackers Shoot at Man in Dramatic Scene at Temecula 'Park and Ride': Police
Police say three people — who had already carjacked someone in San Diego — tried to do it again in Temecula on Wednesday.

TEMECULA, CA — Three people are sought in an attempted carjacking at a "park and ride" location in Temecula, police say.
The incident happened around 5:15 a.m. Wednesday as the victim was waiting for his vanpool at the lot at 40820 Winchester Road, according to Sgt. Jon Wade.
"The reporting party told the officers that three people attempted to carjack him while he was seated in his parked vehicle waiting for his vanpool to arrive," Wade said in a news release Wednesday.

According to Wade, the three people showed up at the location in a vehicle that had been stolen overnight in a carjacking in nearby San Diego County.
"While the victim was seated in his vehicle, one of the suspects approached the victim’s car door, brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s vehicle," Wade said.

"After a brief struggle with the suspect, and fearing for his safety, the victim accelerated his vehicle and crashed into the suspect’s car causing damage to the suspect’s car," he added. "As this occurred, one of the suspects fired two shots from his weapon at the victim, striking his vehicle."
The people then took off in a Silver Dodge Neon— which will now have damage to the driver's side from the victim ramming into it, Wade said.
Anyone who may have spotted the vehicle or suspects is asked to call Detective Fisher at the Temecula Police Department at (951) 696-3000.
