TEMECULA, CA — The Riverside County coroner's office has released the identity of a woman killed last week in a car crash in Temecula on Interstate 15.
Nancy Gonzalez, 28, of Pomona was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:26 a.m. Friday, according to the coroner.
The fatal solo-vehicle wreck was reported moments earlier on the northbound side of the freeway, just north of Rainbow Valley Boulevard.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Gonzalez was a passenger in a 1993 Honda Civic driven by a 29-year-old Upland man. The driver was heading northbound at approximately 70 mph when he approached a freeway construction zone. For unknown reasons, he made an unsafe turning movement that caused him to lose control of the car, according to a CHP preliminary report.
The Honda went toward the center divider, up a dirt embankment, rolled over and landed on its roof in the center median, the CHP reported.

During the rollover, Gonzalez, who was in the front passenger seat, was partially ejected from the car. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the CHP.
The driver and another passenger, a 45-year-old Ontario woman, were seriously injured in the crash. Neither was wearing a seat belt, the CHP said.
Both survivors were transported to Inland Valley Medical Center; an update on their current conditions was unknown and they were not identified by authorities.
CHP Officer Mike Lassig, who released the preliminary crash report, urged all motorists to obey California's seat belt law, which states that the safety restraints "contribute to reducing highway deaths and injuries."
NOTE: The CHP previously identified Gonzalez as an Ontario resident.
