Earthquakes Rattle Idyllwild, Big Bear
A magnitude 3.3 temblor was reported at 4:29 p.m. Tuesday near Idyllwild, and another, bigger quake struck at 6:44 p.m. near Big Bear.
INLAND EMPIRE, CA — Two earthquakes shook the Inland Empire during afternoon rush hour Tuesday, but there were no reports of injuries or serious damage.
The first temblor, which measured a magnitude 3.3, struck at 4:29 p.m., about 4 miles northeast of the mountain town of Idyllwild, according to the U.S. Geological Society.
Another quake measuring a magnitude 3.6 hit at 6:44 p.m., about 6 mile north of Big Bear, according to the USGS.
