Aguanga Fire Burns 3 Acres Near National Forest Land
15 Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire engines, with lights and sirens, drove through Temecula to halt the Aguanga blaze Thursday.

AGUANGA, CA — Forward progress was halted on the Aguanga brush fire that ate through three acres near the San Bernardino National Forest Thursday, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said.
The fire was first reported around 2 p.m. in the 40200 block of Reed Valley Road, near Centennial Street, according to a Cal Fire. A helicopter, an air tanker, and 15 engines headed through Temecula to lend in the firefight, and U.S. National Forest Service firefighters also deployed to battle the blaze.
Flames pushed by high winds rapidly bloomed into a three-acre blaze, burning in medium fuels with a moderate rate of spread, they told Patch. The department is taking every precaution with the fire.

Air tankers and a water-dropping helicopter were making runs to help lay down the fire in advance of ground personnel's arrival.
No injuries were reported, and no evacuations were deemed necessary as no structures were threatened.

Firefighters will remain on scene until approximately 6 p.m. to continue containment and mop-up, according to Cal Fire.
