(patch.com) — Authorities are asking Temecula residents to help find 63-year-old Daniel John Mullins, missing since Sept. 24 from the 40000 block of Nob Court near Meadow View. He's described as 5-foot-10, 185 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes, and may be traveling by mountain bike. Anyone with information is urged to call 800-950-2444.

Temecula school board member accused of planting listening device under desk (amedpost.com) — Temecula Valley Unified School District is embroiled in controversy after surveillance video allegedly showed Trustee Melinda Anderson placing an electronic device under fellow board members' desk during a closed meeting, prompting a sheriff's investigation. Trustees Emil Barham and Steven Schwartz are demanding resignations, while Anderson, who says she felt threatened, has announced plans to step down as the district urges focus on students and ongoing police review.
   

3. Extreme Heat Warning in Effect in Riverside County (mynewsla.com) — Temecula is under an extreme heat warning this week, with temperatures around 100 degrees and only slight cooling expected after Thursday. Threat Of Sanitation Strike In RivCo Looms As Worker Contracts Expire, Union Says (patch.com) — From Temecula, residents are being warned that contracts for nearly 4,000 Southern California sanitation workers have expired, raising the possibility of a trash strike affecting Riverside County. Union leaders say negotiations continue but labor disruptions could occur anytime, which might impact garbage collection and related services if companies and workers fail to reach new agreements.
