• Warner Springs Man Charged Over Threatening Letter Sent to Temecula Mosque (edhat.com) — A Temecula mosque reported a terrifying letter threatening a mass killing of Muslims, leading federal authorities to charge a Warner Springs man with mailing threatening communications. Investigators traced the letter to his home, where they seized several firearms, including a suspected ghost gun. He remains in custody while facing up to five years in federal prison if convicted.
   

• Saturday night's all right: Cross country runners shine at Raven Invitational (sandiegouniontribune.com) — Temecula's Great Oak High School cross country team was among 83 programs competing under the lights at the Raven Invitational, where a new course record highlighted the night. The meet shifted to evening races to avoid dangerous heat, giving runners cooler conditions and spectators a better view as athletes looped repeatedly through the stadium.
