Potato Shatters Deputy's Windshield In Temecula, Witnesses Sought
It's suspected that the potato came from a dark-colored pickup truck that was seen on Butterfield Stage and Pauba roads early Tuesday.
TEMECULA, CA — A potato that was either intentionally hurled or somehow flew out of a pickup truck shattered a deputy's patrol car windshield, and now investigators from the Southwest Sheriff's Station are seeking witnesses to the incident.
The deputy had just finished a call for service and was traveling northbound on Butterfield Stage Road, passing Rancho Vista Road, around 2:18 a.m. Tuesday when the potato struck and shattered the patrol car's windshield.
The deputy, covered in glass, pulled to the side of the roadway to avoid a traffic collision, the Southwest Sheriff's Station reported.
