Promenade Temecula Partners with Southwest Healthcare System to Host Annual Teen Expo on April 18
The free Teen Expo will promote driver safety through a fun interactive event for teens and local families
In an effort to educate the local community on everyday safety and help local teens avoid preventable harm while driving, Promenade Temecula has partnered with the Inland Valley Trauma Department of Southwest Healthcare System to hold the fourth annual Teen Expo on Saturday, April 18 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Promenade Temecula’s outdoor plaza.
“This is a truly important issue. A recent survey by PEW Research Center showed that one out of three drivers ages 16 to 17 years old have texted while driving, and 52 percent of these teens admitting to talking on their phones while driving,” explained Kym Espinosa, Director of Marketing for Promenade Temecula. “These driving distractions are increasingly creating crash risks, injuries and deaths every year across the country.”
Espinosa notes that teens today need to be educated early about general safety and motor safety, even before they are old enough to drive. These early educational programs are designed to limit their risk of fatal crashes and other everyday dangers.

“As a central location where local families come to shop, dine and play, Promenade Temecula hosts the annual Teen Expo as a way to provide teens important safety messages, through a fun and interactive experience,” adds Espinosa.
This year, the sponsors of the event have enlisted powerful consultants in advancing their message. Youth from California State University San Marcos, Mt. San Jacinto Community College and area high schools all serving on the Promenade Temecula Leadership Council, have helped to craft the message and promote it through their own social network channels.

“It’s been a great opportunity to work on this project,” said Brianna Ranger, a student at Mt. San Jacinto Community College and a member of the Promenade Temecula Leadership Council. “Our goal has been to create a brand message that will resonate with our peers and be remembered.”
This year’s Teen Expo will feature exciting freestyle motocross stunts performed by famed Metal Mulisha riders Jimmy Fitzpatrick, Todd Potter, and Wes Agee, who will engage with local community members while also teaching them about motocross safety.
In addition to the freestyle motocross stunts, this free event will also offer a number of fun activities, demonstrations, and information stations for the whole family to enjoy, including:
