Riverside County Hiring Event: In-Home Caregivers Sought
Online access for the free hiring event will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA — Riverside County is hosting an online recruitment event Wednesday, March 2, to hire in-home caregivers who can help "aging and disabled people live safely at home and with greater independence," county officials announced.
"Riverside County administers the state In-Home Supportive Services Program. The program is needed more than ever as one in every five of the county’s 2.5 million residents is age 60 or older — a population projected to swell by 250% in coming decades," according to a county news release.
The need for home-care workers is especially great in the Coachella Valley, Anza, Blythe, Idyllwild and Hemet, the county reported.

"IHSS caregivers currently earn $15.50 an hour, have flexible schedules, and receive benefits such as paid sick leave," according to the county news release.
Applicants must pass a background check, drug screening and be able to perform caregiver responsibilities including household chores, meal preparation and bathing. Caregivers do not need experience, will have access to training and, if requested, will receive essential protective gear to protect against the spread of COVID-19, according to the county.
