Pilot Killed In Temecula Plane Crash

First responders were on the scene of a single-engine plane crash in Temecula Tuesday morning.

TEMECULA, CA — A small airplane crashed in a field southeast of French Valley Airport in Temecula Tuesday morning, the Federal Aviation Administration told Patch. The pilot was killed in the crash.

The single-engine Zodiac 601XL hit the ground around 10:30 a.m. Only the pilot was on board, FAA officials said in an email.

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board was investigating the crash.

The aircraft's registration number was not immediately available.

The Riverside County Fire Department tweeted at 11:09 a.m. that a small aircraft was down in a field in the 32000 block of Everview Terrace.

Firefighters were reportedly on the scene assisting Riverside County sheriff's deputies.
