Smoke Seen From I-215: 4 People Displaced In RivCo House Fire
A fire extended from a car into a Riverside County home, midday Tuesday.

RIVERSIDE, CA — A car fire spread to a Riverside home, sparked a significant blaze, and displaced a family of four people, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department said.
According to a Cal Fire spokesperson, the blaze ignited around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Julies Way and Sycamore Canyon Boulevard, next to Interstate 215 in an unincorporated area.
Both county and municipal engine crews were sent to the location. They encountered flames raging in a vehicle, which extended to the single-story house where it was parked.

The family escaped uninjured, though the home was severely damaged.
According to officials, firefighters deployed around the blaze, fully containing it just before 11 a.m.

Two adults and two children were displaced by the damage to their home, and the Red Cross assisted the family.
The cause of the car fire that sparked the blaze remained under investigation.
