Start Smart CHP New Driver Class Slated For March In Temecula: What To Know, How To Register
Space is limited—spots fill up fast for this in-person teenage driver course.

TEMECULA, CA — A class designed for newly licensed and soon-to-be drivers is planned this month in Temecula, according to Officer Brian Seel of the California Highway Patrol. The course is designed to encourage safety and good driving habits and possibly reduce insurance rates for parents of teen drivers.
The two-hour CHP course, from 6 to 8 p.m., is slated for Monday, March 16.
The class is free to attend and will be held at Temecula City Hall, 41000 Main Street. Advanced registration is recommended.

According to Seel, "this eye-opening session covers:
- The real risks & responsibilities of driving;
- Distracted driving, speeding, & DUI dangers;
- Seatbelt importance & defensive driving tips;
- Parent/guardian roles in keeping teens safe.
"When you sign up your teen, parents or guardians are required to attend as well," Seel said. "The course is required for many school parking permits, too."Drive smart. Stay safe. Your future rides on it."

After you've attended the class, your teen will receive a certificate of completion, which, if presented to your auto insurance, could reduce your premium.
