Students at Discovery Isle Child Development Center® in Temecula Hosted Lemonade Fundraiser to Support Cancer Research
Students prepared and served lemonade to members of the community, raising more than $800 in proceeds for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation
Oct. 10, 2016 -- Students at Discovery Isle Child Development Center in Temecula raised more than $800 during a weeklong lemonade fundraiser in support of national nonprofit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), which supports childhood cancer research. Kindergarten students set up a lemonade stand in the school’s entrance and helped prepare and serve lemonade, where donations were accepted for the refreshing treat. This is the third year that the school has hosted the lemonade stand, raising a total of more than $2,000 for ALSF.
Students and teachers also participated in “yellow” spirit days and wore yellow clothing all week in support of ALSF and ending childhood cancer. Teachers incorporated awareness through classroom activities and lesson plans themed around lemonade and fundraising. For more information about ALSF, visit http://www.alexslemonade.org.
