Crumbl Cookies, a "cookie tech company," is a relatively new operation that has grown through word-of-mouth and social media advertising. Inside, the ordering process is "high tech" as is the quality control.
Each week, they share which flavors the franchises will bake, each cookie with subtle differences that keep fans coming back for more.
Inside, the tiles gleam from the walls and the pink boxes are stacked and waiting for freshly baked cookies. Huge bins for ingredients are yet to be filled. Everything is on order, awaiting the grand opening day.
The original bakery was founded by cousins Jason McGowan and Sawyer Hemsley out of Orem, Utah. They created what the pair dubbed "the Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe." That grew into a weekly, rotating menu that is never the same. According to their website over 300 Crumbl Cookies bakeries are open in 36 states.
Now, they are adding Crumbl Cookie Ice Cream as a bonus, which this store will serve.
Liebengood's local contractor, CWF Inc.'s Jim LaRue, oversaw the process of building and making final adjustments. Everything is ready. His staff of young workers is hired, managers chosen and all are ready to get going.
About 50 Temecula high school students from Temecula Valley High School, Great Oak, and Chaparral will work behind the counter.
There is still a "hiring" sign in his window, as he will continue to accept applications for students wanting to work in their community.
Some prospective employees have shared personal notes about experiences with Crumbl Cookies or baking with their family that resonated with the owners.
"We have received many interesting notes from candidates," the owner said. All prospective employees "believe in the company and think it looks like a fun place to work. And it will be!"
At the end of every day, unsold cookies will be donated to facilities like the food bank and Temecula Valley Hospital, as a sweet treat for others.
"We understand that it takes a village to run a business," the owner said," and that is a value that we believe in."
