Temecula I-15 Crash Splits Vehicle In Half, 3 Hospitalized

TEMECULA, CA — A crash between a Toyota Sienna minivan and a Honda Accord on southbound Interstate 15 in Temecula Saturday morning sent the vehicles down an embankment, briefly trapped one person in the wreckage, injured six people and sent three to a hospital.

The crash occurred near Rancho California Road at 4:10 a.m., according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

The vehicles went down an embankment and one was split in half, the California Highway Patrol said.

One person was trapped in a vehicle, but was conscious, the CHP said.

A total of 10 people were found at the crash scene and three were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries with three others who sustained minor injuries refused additional treatment.

Four others in the vehicles were not hurt, the fire department said.
