Temecula Man's Killing Outside Gas Station: Suspect Arrested
Francisco Anthony Yzararraz of Perris is suspected in the shooting death of Temecula's Gelder Funes-Lopez.

TEMECULA, CA — A suspect has been arrested in the Feb. 2 killing of a 21-year-old Temecula man, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department announced.
Francisco Anthony Yzararraz, 26, of Perris is suspected in the shooting death of Gelder Funes-Lopez outside a Perris gas station. Yzararraz was already in custody prior to his arrest Monday on suspicion of killing the Temecula man, according to the sheriff's department.
Jail records show Yzararraz was arrested Feb. 6 in Perris on the parole violation — just four days after the Funes-Lopez killing. He is being held at Cois Byrd Detention Center.

Investigators did not say what led them to Yzararrez; a motive for the killing has not been disclosed.
Funes-Lopez was gunned down around 7:59 p.m. in the 200 block of E. 4th Street in Perris. Despite life-saving efforts by deputies and medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
