UPDATE: Temecula Felon Not Found in Neighborhood Search, Police Say

• UPDATE: Temecula Man Found After Hours-Long Search Through Local Neighborhoods

TEMECULA, CA – Temecula police canvased a local neighborhood Wednesday afternoon, searching for a wanted felon, police tell Patch. However, after nearly two hours of searching, no suspect was apprehended.

According to a Riverside County Sheriff's Department spokesman, Temecula police received a report of a wanted felon in the 43900 block of Larino Court just before 11 a.m.

"They are currently looking for a suspect who is wanted for a parole violation," Deputy Mike Vasquez told Patch Wednesday morning.

A helicopter was spotted in the area, which is near De Portola Road and Meadows Parkway, circling overhead beginning around 11:30 a.m. Images from the ground show several patrol units in the area and deputies on foot.

Seven patrol units along with a K-9 officer were spotted by Patch in the area of Favara Drive and Larino Court just before noon. Deputies appeared to be searching one house in particular, where police on scene said the suspect was believed to be hiding, possibly in the attic.

"Our officers possibly observed a person with an active warrant for his arrest and are at a residence where the he may be located trying to confirm if he is there so we can take him into custody," Temecula Police Chief Jeff Kubel told Patch at 12:30 p.m.

However, by 1 p.m., after police had entered the home with a ladder on loan from the Riverside County Fire Department, the scene was cleared, and no arrests made.

Police confirm to Patch that the suspect was not found.
