Traffic Signal Outages In Temecula, Murrieta Amid Power Safety Shutoff
Give yourself extra time on the roads. Several traffic lights were out in Southwest Riverside County on Thursday morning.
TEMECULA, CA — Drivers, pack your patience. Thursday morning, California Highway Patrol announced that Butterfield Stage Road and Clinton Keith Road traffic signals were malfunctioning.
As of 8:30 a.m., defective signals at Butterfield Stage Road and Avenida Lestonnac created stop-and-go traffic. Witnesses say drivers were "running through the defective light" as of 8 a.m., according to CHP dispatch.
According to CHP, drivers at the I-15 and Clinton Keith Road onramp were also affected by the outage.

Southern California Edison is sending a crew to the areas of the downed signals.
The non-functioning traffic signals occurred amid a 13,500-resident power safety shutoff due to fire weather conditions. Though the wind gusts have quieted in Southwest Riverside County, SCE spokesperson Gabrielle Ornelas said SCE will inspect all lines and circuits before the power is returned to the outage areas.
