Truckee Bike Park rebrands as Riverview, parts ways with Biking for a Better World (sierrasun.com) — Truckee’s beloved bike park at Riverview Sports Park has been rebranded Riverview Bike Park and will now be managed directly by the Truckee Donner Recreation and Park District, ending its concession agreement with Biking for a Better World. District leaders say they’ll handle operations and maintenance in-house while former partners raise concerns about funding, safety, and responsibility for a past SBA loan.
   

2. Truckee Town Council issues community proclamations, reviews annual budget draft (sierrasun.com) — Truckee’s Town Council has officially proclaimed June as Pride Month, confirmed plans for the June 6 Truckee Day cleanup, and honored the Rotary Club of Truckee in the Truckee Day Hall of Fame. Councilmembers also reviewed the draft 2026–27 town budget, outlining investments in infrastructure, workforce housing, wildfire preparedness, and environmental sustainability ahead of formal adoption in June.
   

3. Man Jumped into Lake to Swim, Then Boat Drifted Away. He Was Last Seen Struggling to Remain Above Water (people.com) — A 36-year-old man drowned at Donner Lake after jumping from a pontoon boat without a life jacket and being unable to reach the drifting vessel, despite an extensive search by Truckee Police and partner agencies. His body was recovered later that evening and released to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office. Local authorities are offering condolences and implicitly underscoring the importance of flotation devices on the water.

Nevada County Sheriff's Office celebrates 175 years of service and dedication to community (theunion.com) — Truckee residents are served by a Nevada County Sheriff’s Office that’s marking 175 years while still operating a 12-bed Truckee Jail holding facility much like it did in 1951.
