• Sheriff's office arrests Turlock school employee for child porn (turlockjournal.com) — Parents and staff in Turlock Unified School District are being notified after a district employee was arrested on child pornography–related charges, following a national tip. Investigators say they have found no evidence so far of abuse involving district students, and the Sheriff's Office urges anyone with information to contact Detective Cooper or submit an anonymous tip online or by phone. 
• Free program gives Stanislaus County seniors, those with disabilities door-to-door transportation (turlockjournal.com) — Stanislaus County residents in Turlock and beyond aged 50 and up, or those with disabilities, can get free door-to-door rides through the Care Cruisers program funded by Measure L. Turlock riders say it's made medical visits and errands far easier than regular bus service, and the nonprofit MOVE Stanislaus continues expanding hours and destinations across all nine cities in the county.
• Almond hulls being tested for use as food ingredient (turlockjournal.com) — A Turlock-based growers association is helping test-clean almond hulls so they can be safely used in foods like granola, potentially boosting value for local growers. Federal recognition that hull powder is generally safe could turn this former livestock feed into a higher-value, upcycled ingredient, encouraging new products and investment across California's almond industry.
