Hayward Launches Promotion to Incentivize Local Shopping
Prizes include free rounds of golf, movie tickets, coffee and e-readers, city officials said.

Hayward businesses are offering shoppers a different incentive this holiday season with a promotion that involves a prize drawing, according to city officials. The promotion, referred to as the Passport to Downtown, launched today and will last through Dec. 21, Hayward city officials said.
More than 40 downtown Hayward businesses are participating. Shoppers can pick up one of these “passports” at a participating business and use them to earn stamps for every $10 spent at local stores. The stamps enter shoppers into prize drawings.
Prizes include free rounds of golf, movie tickets, coffee and e-readers, city officials said. The drawing will be held at Hayward City Hall when the promotion ends on Dec. 21.
