Murdered Union City Man Identified
The victim was found lying on a sidewalk Tuesday night.

A man who was fatally shot in Union City late Tuesday night was identified by police today as 43-year-old David Mosley Powell, who lived in both Union City and San Diego.
Police said officers who responded to reports of a shooting found Powell lying on the sidewalk on Alvarado Niles Road near Osprey Drive at 11:37 p.m. Tuesday.
Powell was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Officers who investigated the shooting followed a blood trail to Skylark Drive near Grackle Court, which police think is the location where the shooting occurred.
Union City police spokesman Lt. Matias Pardo said police are releasing Powell’s photo in hopes that it will jar the memories of people who might have seen him Tuesday night.

Pardo said detectives are investigating Powell’s death but aren’t yet releasing information about suspects or a possible motive.
