Equity LifeStyle Properties' Bay Indies Community Hosts Annual "Loveland Day" to Benefit Venice’s Loveland Center
Every year during the first week of April, residents
from ELS' Bay Indies Community in Venice host “Loveland Day.” The annual event is designed to benefit
The Loveland Center, a local charity for adults with developmental disabilities.
This year, ELS residents are preparing to celebrate
Loveland Day with 45 students from the center and around 70 volunteers from the Bay Indies community.
During Loveland Day, Bay Indies residents organize a lunch and play games with Loveland residents. This year's activities include bocce, shuffleboard, corn hole, and quoits. ELS residents volunteer their time each year to teach the students how to play the games. In addition to the planned activities, the residents provide lunch, conversation and support. They have been hosting this event for many years with various themes; this year’s theme is “Clowning Around."
Each year, the event is planned by the residents of Bay Indies, and led by a special committee dedicated to making the annual event rewarding for everyone involved.
