Girl Scouts: Babysitting and First Aid

Local Girl Scouts spent their President’s Day Weekend learning the art of Babysitting and First Aid.

On Saturday, February 15, 2014, 13 Cadette Girl Scouts (11-14 year olds) were American Red Cross certified in Babysitting at Mark Twain Middle School.  They learned everything from diapering, feeding, burping, first aid, and much more.

On Monday, February 17, 2014, 27 Brownie Girl Scouts (2nd-3rd grades) earned their Brownie First Aid Badge at St. John’s Presbyterian Church. The girls learned all the basics of First Aid:  how and when to call 911, how to clean and dress a wound, they made personal first aid kits and learned how easy it is to spread germs.
