LAPD Invites You to a Night Out in Mar Vista
National Night Out brings the community together for neighborhood camaraderie and crime prevention.
From the Los Angeles Police Deparment:
LAPD Pacific Area’s Annual National Night Out is from 6-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Mar Vista Recreation Center, 11430 Woodbine St.
The LAPD Pacific area covers Del Rye, Mar Vista, Palms, Playa Del Rey, Playa Vista, Westchester and Venice.

This is a free community event.
We will provide a free BBQ, beverages, treats and lots of free stuff.
The introduction of National Night Out, “America’s Night Out Against Crime.” in 1984 began an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Everyone comes out to partner with their police officers, neighborhood councils, organizations, and residents all devoted to safer communities to keep informed, interested, involved and motivated and at the same time enjoy a great event.
We will provide many resources on crime prevention such as on how to start a neighborhood watch and also become a block captain. Next Door the social media tool to help know the crime in your area, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, Child pedestrian safety, bicycle safety, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, CrimeStoppers, Safety Alert Apps and much more.
Los Angeles city entities also participating include L.A. Animal Services, LADWP, the City Attorney’s office, 911 Communications and L.A. City Emergency Preparedness,
