Lowe's Is Hiring 45,000 Employees For Spring And Summer
The home improvement giant is looking to fill hundreds of positions across California going into the busy spring season.
LOS ANGELES, CA — If home improvement is your obsession or your true calling is in the garden, then you might be interested to know Lowe's Companies, Inc. is hiring 45,000 seasonal employees to kick off the spring season.
The home improvement big box store is looking for seasonal employees including cashiers, lawn and garden associates, stockers and assemblers of outdoor products. The company offers flexible hours and a 10 percent employee discount as well as the potential to transition into the permanent workforce. In 2016, nearly half of the company's seasonal employees accepted part-time and full-time positions, which come with incentive programs such as a 401(k), a discounted stock purchase plan, tuition reimbursement and paid time off for community volunteering.
Lowe’s is looking for 662 employees in the greater Los Angeles area, 235 in San Francisco, 345 in the Sacramento-Stockton-Modesto area, 247 in Portland, and 654 in Seattle-Tacoma.

Lowe’s is also looking for loaders to assist customers who order products online at Lowes.com and pick them up at their local store, shoppers who accounts for about 60 percent of Lowe's online orders, according to the company.
"Our goal is to meet customers wherever they are – whether in stores, online or at home – with the support, inspiration and solutions they need to tackle their home projects," Jennifer Weber, the company’s chief human resources officer said in a written release. "Seasonal employees play an important role in helping customers during this peak period, and we're excited to welcome them to the Lowe's team."

In the home improvement business, spring kicks off the busy season. Seasonal positions typically support stores between the months of March and September according to a statement by the company. Seasonal hiring is already underway.
