Sunbather Run Over by Lifeguard SUV on Venice Beach Files Lawsuit

Just over two weeks after being run over by a lifeguard SUV, Lorae Bermudez, 26, has filed a lawsuit against L.A. County.

Just over two weeks after being run over by a lifeguard SUV, Lorae Bermudez, 26, has filed a lawsuit against L.A. County.

Ms. Bermudez was struck by the vehicle at 4:20 p.m. on September 15th, as she was sunbathing on the beach while her husband was out in the water.

Bermudez suffered serious injuries to her abdomen, pelvis, and internal organs including lacerations on her liver.

According to her personal injury attorney, after being injured, she needed a walker to get around and was no longer able to work or care for herself. Bermudez could have died, but the sand may have mitigated some of the damage.

The Ford Escape SUV was owned and operated by the County of L.A.
