Apple Store Thieves Scoop Up $30,000 Worth Of Electronics

WALNUT CREEK, CA —Walnut Creek police are looking for suspects in a grab-and-run robbery of an Apple Store Thursday that netted thousands of dollars of electronic items.

At about 11:50 a.m., police received a call about four suspects who ran into the Apple Store on South Main Street, scooped up 29 items that were on display and ran back out.

The four men, all dressed in hoodies to obscure their faces, got into a new model black Dodge Challenger and fled the scene, according to Walnut Creek police spokeswoman Lt. Beth Hopkins.

No weapons were reported seen during the robbery and no one was injured, Hopkins said.

The men made off with $30,000 worth of merchandise.

"This has been a regional problem," Hopkins said. "Our investigations bureau is in contact with other agencies that have Apple Stores with similar incidents."
