Bungling Burglar Leaves Behind Cell Phone, Cops Say
A commercial burglary was quickly solved in one California community thanks to a big assist from the accused man, police say.

WALNUT CREEK, CA — In a case that seems destined for a dumb criminals roundup, Walnut Creek Police say they've solved a commercial burglary with an assist from the accused burglar.
He left his cell phone behind when he pulled off the job, they report.
Police checked security video of the break-in at a restaurant and say the identity of the cell phone owner matched the video.

Shane Traynor went to the police department to pick up his lost cell phone, and was arrested for burglary. He was booked into county jail.
