Child Porn Charge: Walnut Creek Man Arrested In Kansas

WALNUT CREEK, CA — A Walnut Creek man wanted on a child pornography charge in Contra Costa County has been arrested in Kansas, the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office said Monday.

William Yewell Cashell, 44, was arrested July 20 in Shawnee in Johnson County, Kansas, District Attorney's Office spokesman Scott Alonso said.

Cashell faces a charge of possession of child or youth pornography depicting a person under 18 engaging in or simulating sexual conduct between January and May 2 of this year, according to the complaint filed on June 11.

He allegedly kept the pornography in an email account. Alonso said efforts to extradite Cashell are underway.
