CSAA Employees Uncover Workplace Bias During Immersive Tour
CEO Action Check Your Blind Spots unconscious bias tour makes a stop in Walnut Creek
CSAA, a AAA insurer based in Walnut Creek, hosted the CEO Action Check Your Blind Spots unconscious bias tour, a national mobile tour designed to give people the opportunity to learn about and explore ways to mitigate unconscious bias in their everyday lives. Through a series of immersive and interactive elements, participants are exposed to the nuances of unconscious bias, and also have the chance to sign the I Act On pledge to address personal biases and drive inclusive behaviors.
“This highly interactive and eye-opening tour will use virtual reality and gaming technology to help our team and our local community leaders better understand and recognize our own unconscious biases, or blind spots, that can narrow vision and influence our behaviors,” said Karina De La Cruz, vice president, community at CSAA Insurance Group. “The better we understand bias – others and our own – the better we can meet our customers’ needs and grow our business.”
During the immersive experience, CSAA employees learned how to catch bias behavior and pledged to help make a more healthy, inclusive work environment. To date, nearly 14,000 individuals have already taken the pledge via ceoaction.com/pledge.
